WHY WE NEED DIRECT DEMOCRACY IN CANADA?

We are a country and people designed for true self-government but we have ended up with a political system in which we vote for people to rule over us until the next group of ruling elites takes their turn. Canada is a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy in the form of Representative democracy. .

We need DIRECT DEMOCRACY for following reasons

It has become obvious that our governments do not represent us and do not follow the will of the people. These past two years have shown that they have crossed the line in trampling our Constitution and our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Our Constitution and Charter of Rights and Freedoms are meaningless when our governments no longer govern according to them.

Our Parliamentary /Representative democracy political system is set up to give absolute power to our Prime Minister. We do not elect our PM; he is appointed by the Governor General on behalf of the Queen. Our PM whom we do not elect appoints the Cabinet. We do not elect all the most powerful people in our government. Our House of Commons is supposed to represent us the people but we have failed. The House of Commons represents the interests of the ruling party, rather than the interests of the people of Canada. This applies to most institutions, including the judiciary as judges are appointed by the parties in power.

We are a country and people designed for true self-government and we believe it is time to become a self-governing country and people with Direct Democracy. Any other form of government will lead to disaster, including proportional representation, as the dominant parties will continue to have control over our parliament, rather than the people.

Direct democracy is: "WE THE PEOPLE TAKE GOVERNANCE AND FINAL DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY IN OUR OWN HANDS".

We the People rule.

Our candidates become the representatives that work for us as our employees.

We the People take governance of our Senate, our Parliament, and our House of Commons.

We are the Direct Democracy Party in Canada.
